The TD130 and TD230 are packaged in a rugged metal case with a carrying handle. It has a keyed switch to lock out the keyboard for security purposes, plus an LED on the keypad to verify signal transmission. Often used by building maintenance engineers as a portable troubleshooting tool, the TD130 or TD230 can also reside on a desktop at a guard station, or in a maintenance office to provide backup or override of a programmed powerline control system.
