Glass Break Detectors

Magnetic sensors may not detect a break-in if the thief simply smashes a window or a glass door. Our acoustic glass breakage detectors respond to the actual cracking of the glass the moment someone tries to break in. The alarm will sound while the thief is still outside – not after he is already walking around inside the home.

Glass break detectors fall into two general categoris – Acoustic and Shock sensors. Acoustic detectors protect all of the windows in a room or area. Shock detectors protect a single expanse of glass.

  • Acoustic Sensors – Acoustic glassbreak sensors are an important part of an effective perimeter detection system. It is very important to choose the right sensor for a particular application or environment. We offer you a variety of choices for virtually any glassbreak application.

  • Shock Sensors – Breaking glass produces specific shock frequencies that travel through glass and window frames. When shock sensors feel the wave generated by breaking glass, they signal an alarm. These sensors mount directly on the glass or the frame and give you a product virtually immune to false alarms. Shock sensors can operate on windows with heavy drapes or shutters and they help prevent break-in attempts by providing a visual deterrent to intruders.

IntelliSense FGW-1525 Wireless Glassbreak Detector

IntelliSense’s FGW-1525 combines the benefits of wireless glassbreak detection with FlexCore™ signal processing for superior false alarm immunity. It is compatible with all major brand wireless transmitters.

Features
  • FlexCore™ Signal Processor
The FlexCore Signal Processor is an Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC), which processes sound data in parallel rather than sequentially for faster, more accurate detection decisions.
The combination of proven FlexGuard performance with the speed of FlexCore processing provides unmatched false alarm immunity without compromising detection.
  • Multiple Domain Signal Analysis
The FGW-1525 performs Multiple Domain Signal Analysis in which time, frequency and amplitude characteristics are evaluated for signal qualification. This enables the detector to accurately discriminate false alarms from true glassbreak events.
  • Easy Wireless Installation
Mounts on any wall or ceiling with no minimum range and a maximum range of 25’ (7.6 m) to the glass.
  • Adjustable Sensitivity Settings
Technicians can customize the sensitivity to the acoustics of the area. The FGW-1525 provides unmatched detection and false alarm immunity.
  • Wireless
Compatible with virtually any 3.6 V or 9 V wireless transmitter.
  • FlexCore™ Parallel Signal Processing
Sound wave signals are processed by the ASIC in parallel, rather than in sequence. This enables the detector to process 50% more data in less time; ensuring better detection and false alarm immunity.
  • Indicator LEDs
For testing flex and audio technologies.
  • Warning Flag
Alerts the installer that the indicator LEDs are enabled. For longer battery life, LEDs should be disabled after testing.
  • Selectable Sensitivity
Two dip switches on the FGW-1525 make it easy to set the sensitivity to match the acoustics of the room. Four different sensitivity levels are available, ranging from very low to high. The range can then be verified remotely with the FlexGuard FG-701.
  • Service Door
Requires no tool to change the battery.
  • Alarm Memory
Alarm LED can be set to latch upon alarm.
  • Trouble/Low Battery Output
This optional output provides an indication of operational status of either self-test failure or a low battery condition
