Features

Optical Slip Ring for noise-free imaging
Panasonic P-T-Z cameras use an advanced all-optical connection between the moving camera and the base, to provide a higher-quality image with less video noise. Unlike cameras that rely on a sliding metal-to-metal contact that is vulnerable to wear and dust, Panasonic P-T-Z cameras transmit the video from camera to base via a light beam that requires no physical contacts at all. This eliminates the image noise and greatly enhances the reliability of the unit.

Panasonic Motion Detection
To support monitoring needs, the P-T-Z cameras include a built-in motion detection feature that can trigger a range of alarms in response to motion in the field of view. Cameras can be set to respond to motion within a given area of the screen, or to motion of a certain duration. The alarm can be used to trigger recording in a VCR, or to alert an operator.

Maximum dynamic range with enhanced Super Dynamic III
SDIII elevates dynamic range to 128x that of conventional cameras to capture unsurpassed quality images even in harsh lighting conditions typically experienced when outside sunlight and indoor light sources overlap - such as light filtering through open doors, building lobbies with windows or glass doors and ATM vestibules - and outdoors in areas that transit from daylight to the dark of night with bright headlights and street lights.

Super Dynamic III A newly designed double speed CCD with advanced Digital Signal Processing (DSP) achieves this by capturing the dark and bright portions of an image separately, and then recombining the two images into a single viewable image frame.

The addition of advanced digital contrast correction further optimizes the composite image's gray scale for refined definition and balance.

SDIII's powerful intelligent processing also drives numerous unique DSP features including Auto Image Stabilizer for camera deployment in areas that may be prone to wind and other sources of vibration; Scene Change Detection that sends an alarm when the camera's lens is obstructed or the camera angle changed without authorization; Auto Tracking to follow an individual's movements within the camera's field of view; wider bandwidth for improved resolution to 540 lines (color); 30x optical zoom (10x electronically) which is the highest in the industry; Adaptive Digital Noise Reduction to minimize image streaking when viewing moving images; and extreme low light sensitivity in color (0.5 lux) and BW (0.04 lux). It's a combination of performance features unique to SDIII cameras.

Digital flip during pans
The convenient digital flip feature allows for more convenient monitoring when viewing objects that pass directly below the camera. As the camera pans in the vertical direction to follow the object, digital signal processing will automatically 'flip' the image top-to-bottom as the object passes beneath the camera, so the image remains right-side-up for easier viewing.

Combination electronic and optical zoom
For an extended magnification range, the P-T-Z cameras combine both optical lens-based zooms and electronic image zooms that can provide magnifications of 220x and more..

Image masking for privacy
Up to eight selected portions of a surveillance image can be masked on screen, to preserve privacy. This can be especially useful for images that include other installations, residences, or public areas in the backgrounds of surveillance scenes.
