Producing Products that Evolve with Time
Howard and Arlene Berger started Alarm Controls Corporation in Deer Park, NewYork
in 1971.The company started out manufacturing power packs, which were used to
replace batteries in the alarm panels that existed at the time. Power packs became
obsolete with the debut of newer alarm panels that did not require batteries to function.
Alarm Controls soon bounced back with the development of a line of remote station
plates. The product line has grown to include request-to-exit stations, magnetic locks,
timers, annunciator panels, push-button control stations, graphic annunciators, custom
security panels, and custom plates.
What They Do
Alarm Controls Corporation produces a line of high-quality security products featuring
UL-listed magnetic locks, vandal-resistant push plates, door control consoles, explosionproof
stations, remote station plates, relays, timers, custom annunciators, control panel
accessories, and more.
The company is perhaps best known for its magnetic locks, which feature 600 or 1200
lbs. holding force, low power consumption, instantaneous release, and continuous duty
operation. For more information, see the Alarm Controls Corporation product listing.
What's New
Alarm Controls has designed an audio buzzer to complement its line of magnetic locks.
The JBS-1 audio-indicator module will sound as a magnetic lock is being un-locked. After
power is removed from the lock, a three-to-five second tone will emanate from the
module inside the lock, indicating that the lock is un-locked. This module will operate on
the standard two wire connection to the lock. No additional power is required.
