In recent years the company, through acquisition, expanded into consumer electronics, home entertainment products, and structured wiring systems for the builder market.

What's New

Linear's new MDS-6A Kit no. 1 and MDS-6A Kit no. 2 is a self-contained music distribution system in two prepackaged kits. The kits include everything that's needed for whole house audio but the speakers. Both MDS-6A kits allow independent listening and independent control of up to six different audio sources in up to six distinct listening locations, while delivering 40 watts per channel over its 12 channels.

The PERS-3600 Console is a new supervised wireless emergency-reporting product designed for medical alert applications. The table-top Console provides "pushbutton" emergency assistance to anyone who desires additional security and peace of mind. For the visually impaired, each button on the Console is molded with braille characters to identify the button's function. The Console can receive signals from up to 16 Linear wireless transmitters. Activating a transmitter causes the console's digital communicator to send the appropriate alarm report to the central monitoring station via the standard telephone network. In addition to the central station report, audible and visual indications occur and the alarm relay energizes during an emergency activation. The emergency alarm can be triggered by the large HELP button on the top of the Console or with a wireless transmitter. The fire alarm can be triggered by a wireless smoke alarm.
